Overview

Provides technical and functional support to management in the design, architecture, installation, configuration, performance, monitoring, and security of the Business and Quality Application systems. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical and data problems. Ensures the availability and reliability of the system within span of control.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and configures Business and Quality Application software and associated tools
  • Maintains and enforces Business and Quality Application software governance policies.
  • Ensures the integrity and security of Business and Quality Application system data in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Performs and tests routine Business and Quality Application system backups and restores
  • Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves Business and Quality Application system issues and escalating incidents as necessary and tunes for performance
  • Supports application development teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Recommends and performs software upgrades, patches and reconfigurations
  • Works with all IT teams to ensure an infrastructure that supports a stable, well-designed, highly available, and properly maintained Business and Quality Applications that are aligned with industry best practices
  • Develops Business and Quality Application system training and documentation.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university. Two (2) or more years of technical experience; software implementations and support; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

None

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures required to maintain and integrate database, web and core business application systems
  • Ability to develop and document Business and Quality Application architecture, administration standards, along with other supporting documentation as needed.
  • Ability to develop Business and Quality Application system end-user documentation on processes, standards and best practices.
  • Internet and Intranet application platforms
  • A basic understanding of network issues and their relation to application and database functions
  • Utility software support tools such as editors, forms design and database query languages
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Skill in operating office equipment
  • Ability to commute with personal transportation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds).
