Responsible for capturing, creating and editing compelling visual content using the latest video and multimedia industry tools and best practices. Works with reporters in the field and in studio to create compelling video content. Designs and develops creative motion graphics, animations and impactful videos for various multimedia platforms.

• Shoots and edits high-quality video content for external and internal use
• Creates cutting-edge motion graphics for internal and external multimedia video projects; utilizes graphic design and motion graphics, including superimposing, chroma key and general video graphics
• Builds visual storyboards for creative concepting
• Brings still-images to life by implementing animation techniques; outputs animations as optimized GIFs and/or specific video formats; implements proper keyframing and animation principles in 2D and 3D environments
• Manages and prioritizes multiple videos, multimedia projects simultaneously; organizes content to allow for ease of access and file sharing
• Collaborates with team on story ideas and journalistic styles and production;
• Provides video support at press conferences and live production events; assists with planning, video operation, and setup and breakdown of equipment
• Works with management to learn and navigate software, follow procedures, and handle studio equipment used for recorded and live productions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Animation, Motion Design, Visual Effects, Videography, Film, or related fields, and three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in a creative studio, broadcast and/or agency; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Highly skilled in digital HD camera technology, videography, lighting, audio recording and post-production process
• Knowledge of libel laws and ability to demonstrate video editorial judgment, journalistic ethics
• Proficient in the operation of video editing software including: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects (including scripts/plug-ins) Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Cinema 4D, Red Giant tools, Mocha Pro, Mac OS, and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to also work independently to conduct interviews and gather information in the field
• Ability to setup and operate a variety of still and video digital cameras, optical devices, green screen and accessories
• Highly skilled in editing, switching equipment for recording and/or producing live shows including Tricaster and Talkshow in addition to other production software
• Knowledge of soundboards, equalizers, microphones and digital recording equipment
• Knowledge of chroma keying, compositing, and video effects
• Knowledge of the latest video compression techniques for posting on websites and social media
• Highly skilled in visual storytelling; ability to grasp complex concepts and translate in easy to understand videos and motion graphics; ability to capture relevant content
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production and creative environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines
• Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, various departments, management, and community leaders and partners
• Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Functions involve the periodic performance of light to moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of light to moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 30 pounds).  Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
