Overview

Provides departmental support for audit, financial systems and general accounting duties. Ensures all deadlines are met with the highest degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tests and audits financial records and systems validating accuracy, end-user security controls, process and procedure efficiencies
  • Researches and recommends process improvements to better utilize business systems and/or enhance existing processes
  • Liaison with functional teams to manage timely delivery of projects
  • Initiates and manages training sessions for accounting staff
  • Assists with preparing and implementing departmental policies and procedures
  • Provides support to accounting management staff as needed

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field and three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

None

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Analytical approach to solving business challenges
  • Knowledge of general accounting processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications that affect department including Great Plains, DynamicPoint, PaperSave, BI360 and BECS.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Proficient skills in computer software (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to compile and combine large amounts of data from a variety of sources to produce reports and documents
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of position

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

Functions involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Position may involve some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking or standing.
